How fast evinrude 115 and 150??

I have a 97 18.5ft Hydra sports bass boat with a evinrude 115, it will go 43mph. If I put a 150 on the boat how fast will it go? Thanks!

Is the 150 really as good as the 115 ?
I agree with steele spike.
Maybe more. If we compare it to my 19' bowrider at 3500# with a 210 hp V8 I / O GPS 50 mph.

Based on the detailed information provided, including the WOT RPM, pitch, size and style of the current prop, I calculate that the 150 will push the boat at exactly 48.6795 mph. :facepalm:

Actually it is possible to do a rough calculation based on several assumptions, namely that each engine actually puts out what they're rated for, that each is propped to get the rpm range close to the peak HP output, and that the props on each are of nearly the same efficiency. With that being the case our esteemed educated guessers are pretty darned close to what the math says: 49 MPH.

So, is 6 mph worth the cost of upgrading the engine and the extra fuel burn?
