How good is a 70HP Tohatso

I am looking at a 1998 19' Carolina skiff center console, with a 1997 Tohatso 70HP, does anyone have any experience with this motor, would like to hear plus's and minus's of this motor.

If you do a search on Tohatsu, you will get all good results.

Ah, yes, I did a search before I made my post, and found not a single negative, which is great for it, but was interested in a little update.

The only problem with Tohatsu is in getting parts and service...we have a small local Tohatsu shop nearby and he handles parts and service far and wide...just a Thought

Some of the new Mercury portables engines are actually Tohatsu. My new 4hp is.

Well, I am now an owner of a Tohatsu. I was working on my old outfit, getting it into condition to offer for sale, and the wife said you better go ahead and buy that boat and motor if you want it, as if you wait till you sell your boat, it will probably be gone. man could you ask for anything better? Is that a good wife? A 98 19' Carolina Skiff, with a Bimini top, 97 (looks like a new) Tohatsu 70HP, motor. Complete outfit very few hours, all deluxe equiptment to go with it, four fishing rod & reels, 57 and 78 qt coolers, preservers, all kind of rod holders, hundreds of dollars worth of extras, loaded tackle boxes, duel batteries, double axel galvanised trailer, with covered spare, all kinds of top notch extra equiptment. Fella says his health, says he cannot use anymore. Just 8,500.00. I told him, anytime he is able and wants to go fishing, just let me know, and I will take him out.
