How long to flush 35hp merc (saltwater)

Just wondering how long I need to flush the motor to get the salt water cleand out? I been just flushing it about 5 min. Also I mainly just go into salt water should I try to run the boat un fresh water once in awhile to get it cleaned out good? Thanks

5-10 minutes should do it. You want to run it long enough for the thermostats to open up.
