Ok, show of hands. Who watches the Factor on Fox News or listens to the radio show and what do you think of Bill O'Reilly? Just curious...

I watch O'Reilly.Haven't heard his radio show.I tend to lean toward his points of view, however, don't agree with everything he comments about.I like to collect a broad consensus of domestic and political issues by watching and reading a bit of several different journalistic sources. In short,I like Bill O'Reilly.

Can you see it? My hand is raised.

I find him quite irritating at times, not wrong, just irritating, and found his first two books to be very boring. Fox News is the reason I have a DirecTV satellite instead of any of the alternatives.

What do you think? Keep it pithy. :)

I agree with roscoe.

He can be very irritating.

Sometimes I also wish he would not cut into some of the responces from guests just because he doesn't agree with their point of view.

But most of the time he is very informative.

Kenny

Re: How many are O'Reilly fans here?

I'm pretty much with you guys. Although I agree with him a lot I can't stand his arrogance and he is so sanctimoneous. He is getting much worse lately and I think this is the beginning of the end for him if he does not change his ways.

Lat night he really ticked me off. He admits he does not even know how to turn on his computer yet he has no problem calling the net out of control and demanding that the government do something. He is talking out of his hat - he knows NOTHING about the net yet he feels qualified to make such comments. And then of coarse, he finds some weak link in the chain to try to make the opposite case.

I posted this question to see what other people though to make sure it wasn't just me - that's why I left out my thoughts until I heard from a few people. I didn't want to bias the opinions.

I watch FoxNews every day and try to catch O'Reilly. When I first starting watching him, I was both impressed and amused by his candor. Lately, I have to agree that his arrogance has taken over his ability to be 'fair and balanced'. I saw the interview about the internet and disagreed with most of his points.

I will always be a FoxNews fan because of the other great reporters and their ability to bring both sides to the table.

Kenny,

That is an excellent question. Excellent. I am not sure if they are really F&B and becuase eveyone else is so left that they look like they lean right or if they do indeed lean right.

I tend to think they are F&B but compared to all else they look right.

Ladyfish - you and I are in agreement on Bill. I think a lot of people feel they way we do. I think he is going to see a slide in ratings soon. He is so thinkheaded though he won't listen!

One last thing, O'Reilly has an awful backup staff. I have seen him be very badly prepared on many occassions.

12footer - Neal is a very sharp guy. Smart and honest. I have a lot of respect for him.

F & B , just a buzz phrase. What exactly is fair and balanced news reporting.I thought the news was the news. All I know is Greta looks different every time I see her.

I guess they mean that their opinion of the news is fair and balanced. ;) Whatever.I just watch Fox a bit more often cause ......Let's face it ..Ted Copple will lull you to sleep. And that squinty eyed, crooked mouth,Peter jennings wannabe Brian Williams spoils my dinner.

Re: How many are O'Reilly fans here?

All I know is the alphabet channels, ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN lean more towards liberal. Fox trys hard to view all points but I think they lean more on the conservative side.

O'Reilly cannot be objective about things he has no knowledge of but offers his uneducated opinion notheless. Of course, so does Andy Rooney. The difference is that Andy Rooney never claimed to be fair and balanced.

I like O'reilly and the rest of the fox reporters. I think his gripe was about the wrong girl having her picture on the net from the Kobe Bryant case. How people who do those things should be held accountable.Big brother can now pry into our computers with the Patriot act, thanks to the terrorists. So I think maybe some control over that aspect could be warranted. After all, that was somebody's daughter.

I disagree that they are "fair and ballanced", even tho they are the only news-channel I watch.
The problem is, nobody is fair and ballanced, and most media is liberal (which is why I watch FOX).
FOX is right wing, but is the only game in town for non-National Enquirer/ NYT type media going.

I watch him sometimes. I agree with him more than half of the time, but he was WAY off base with the GA prom issue. just my two cents worth.

Re: How many are O'Reilly fans here?

I like the news staff at FOX, its just that they only report what they want you to hear, just like all the rest.

Why can't we have a media outlet that covers the facts, not speculation?

I find it ammazing how quickly they are to report something, with only a phone call from someone who claims to have seen or heard something, without investigating the validity of said information.

FOX alway's appears more interested in being the first to report something just so that they can get their Pulitzer Prizes for Journalism.

Fair and Balanced...I don't think so.

Kenny

FOX found a niche'.... smart! guess there's more
people like me in this country than I thought? LOL
like them better than others (even o'reilly), but
they are NOT in any way "fair and balanced"...
their SLANT just agrees with me a bit more than
most.
M.Y.

Re: How many are O'Reilly fans here?

SoulWinner I'm with you 1000% on that - he worked hard to create that issue. I agree with Neil Borts when he told O'Reilly he was just covering his butt over the hubcap statement flap. I lost a lot of respect for Bill over that.

Re: How many are O'Reilly fans here?

I dont have cable... not for 10 years. I have seen O'Rielly a few times. He doesn't let anyone speak to defended his attacks. I want to hear their response, even if upsurd.

Fox News: Fair and balanced?

Someone please define "Fair and balanced"

Is it sitting on the fence?

Is it even steven, were everyone is right.

I just accessed their web site and read a few articals. I didnt interpet any spin about the gay bishop wannabe.

Help me here, I'm sounding like O'Rielly now...
