How many class action lawsuits have you been an unwilling parter too?<br /><br />I have had four, one for the computer, one for my contacts, one other I can remember, and the latest one against Western Union.<br /><br />These things are a total ripoff and the only person that gets any money are the lawyers (I didnt have any beef with any of the companies involved). I am not a suing type of person, but with these class action lawsuits, you become an unwilling party.<br /><br />Ken

All the class action suits I have been offered was a opt in only deal.<br />Don't know about your's though.

The computer one I think automatically included me, the contacts one I had to opt in and I didnt, and the latest Western Union one is automatically included.<br /><br />Ken

The last Class Action Lawsuit that I was involved in was against AT&T Wireless Services.<br /><br />In the end all I got was 30 minutes of additional air-time for 3 months.<br /><br />My plan has unlimited minutes!<br /><br />So, how did I gain anything?<br /><br />Kenny

Three that I know of.<br />Internet service provider (compuserve)(got nothing).<br />Chevy truck gas tank problem. (recieved a worthless $1,000 coupon on the purchase of a new chevy truck).<br />Music CD overcharging by the record companies (still haven't heard anything on that).<br />There's probably more that I don't know about that these gracious trial lawyers included me in without my knowledge for their own benefit.

I was unknowingly part of a class action suit against Nissan Motor Corp, with a settlement of $500,000.00.<br /><br />I was not aware until I received a check for my share - $1.73.<br /><br />Woo-hoo, talk about making your day !

Had to be a party to a class action against Cadet Heaters. Seems the element they designed and used in a couple varieties would overheat and catch fire. The result was that I could buy a replacement heater, not the box nor the face, for half price. Later rec'd check for about the difference minus a few bucks. I think that was the only one.
