The other day I was discussing boat engines with couple of folks and some questions arised which everyone had a complete different views. Maybe there was a bit of the OB hype involved also, who knows.
First - what's the general consensus, how many hours say a 2008 VP 4.3gxi with closed cooling will last, providing oils and filters changed as required? One was saying 500hrs is nothing, other one saying these hours are close to need of a complete overhaul!?
Second - for how many hours straight can you run this engine say @ 4000rpm range, an hour....five hours? Again, providing oil pressure ok, t-stat working properly etc etc.
