how many hrs

Hello. total newbie here. I have a 12 ft Zodiac with a 9.5 hp motor. I was thinking about getting a trolling motor more as a backup than anything else
(don't want to get stranded) roughly how many hrs do you get out of a fully charged battery? I rarely go more than a 1/2 mile out and wondered if a trolling motor would get me back if the engine failed.

It depends on the motor and the size of the battery, Franky. Batteries are like gas tanks. . .they hold a certain number of Amp Hours of power. Trollers use that power. . .so many Amps for so many hours. Different combinations will give you different speeds for different lengths of time.

I suspect that just about any deep cycle marine battery, fully charged, will run just about any 12V troller long enough to get you home from 1/2 mile out.

my first boat was a 12 aluminum and with a 180 min reserve deep cycle i got 6 hours on it with a 33 koda 2 men 2 kids fishfinder and gear. if your in the lake you'll be fine in the ocean check the tides first
