check the specs, in the owners manual, service manual, or the sales brouchure.

100 cubic inches is a approx 1.6 litre

1 liter = 1000 cc = 61 cubic inches. Geez I wish we would have completed the switch to the metric system. It's just too darn simple.

"The metric system never really caught on in the states. Unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine millimeter bullet."

Re: how many liters?

do you think it would be in the repair manual?i tryed to get a sales brouchure fom the dealer when i bought the boat but he only could get a 2003 sales brouchure and i bought a 2007 boat with a 2000 johnson both were never used and im sure the 2003 BRP johnson is not the same as a 2000 OMC johnson.

Re: how many liters?

If you give us the model number of your outboard, I'm sure someone will be able to tell you its displacement. Without knowing which outboard it is, it's not all that easy to guess.

It would be in the service manual for that engine, but there's probably an online source for the info, too.

I'm sure if you called your dealer and gave them the model number, they'd be able to tell you too.

Re: how many liters?

It sure would help if you told us what engine you have. I have a 2005 Johnson brochure and at that time the largest two-stroke listed was a 175 HP. It's a 60 degree V6 with 158 cubic inches or 2589 cc or 2.589 liters (see how easy that conversion was)? The 90 and 115 were V4's with 105.4 cubic inches or 1726 cc or 1.726 liters. The 40 and 50 were two cylinder engines with 45 cubic inches or 737 cc or 0.737 liters. I'm not positive, but I don't think those displacements changed between 2000 and 2005. In fact, I doubt very much except quality changed (for the better) in those years.

its a 2000 carb 2 stroke Johnson ocean pro and theres probably a pretty good chance there is a difference since yours was made by BRP and myn made my OMC but you might be right they may be the same

Re: how many liters?

It's a 2001 150 hp, 60 degree V6. Silvertip nailed it from there. It's "commonly" refered to as a 2.6 liter but is really a 2.589 liter.

Re: how many liters?

If your dealer doesn't know that an "Ocean Pro" motor is OK in saltwater, then I'd go hunting for a different dealer, I think.

Ebay sellers often indicate that a particular outboard has only been used in fresh water. It's an important bit of information, but it doesn't mean that that model of outboard can't be used in salt water.

Seriously, though...start hunting for a new dealer.
