10 miles each way to the nearest lake couple times a week. 40 miles to the next nearest couple times a month. 100 to 140 down to the Delaware or Chesapeake couple times a summer. It adds up pretty quick.....so does the gas bill
3 -4 times a year minimum to my old stoppin' grounds, Lake Vermilion in N MN. That's 300 miles round trip each time(just do day trips). So 900 - 1200 there plus all the trips to our local lakes.....
We enjoy towing to a variety of lakes nearby, and take an occasional 220 mile trip to a cabin in northern Minnesota. Trailer tires, including spare, get rotated as soon as rig comes out of storage in the spring.
Three lakes that are 40 miles each way and one lake that is 60 miles one way.
I've not had the boat but a couple of months, but projected mileage for 2010 is 500-1000 and 10 trips total. Total projected hours on boat/motor: 30 hrs. per year.
This was an eye opener for me. Fifteen miles one way to where I usually launch. Average a minimum of fishing once a week (more in summer, less in winter) so I came out to over 1500 miles a year!
Holy Cow! 1000 miles?!?! Maybe I'm just spoiled...I tow mine 200 yards to the launch in the spring and back home in the late fall.....after duck season.
