We just got notice that the Commodores Daycare/preschool is holding faithful to there contract and is raising tuition for next year. We where pay $625 a month but due to a screw up on there part and the 10% tuition increase Tuition will go up to $797 a month. And that's only for a four day week!!

We are moving her to another place closer to home 1.5 miles up the road for $100 less reputable place also. But Sheesh that's almost my wife biweekly paycheck.

Thank God my kids are past that age.

Plus, I never had to use them daycare centers, as the Ex was a stay home Mom.

Had to work my butt off to please the Ex though ($), but the kids were much better off!

Re: How much are you paying for????

100-150 a week depending on where you go.
Done it all.
3 nannys(young and foriegn)-didnt work or they found a higher bidder.
Wife quit job to stay home and became lisenced to day care others in home also. Wife back to work when kids went to cschool and kids go to after-school care now at a church run place.

To be HRS certified my wife had to have a certified back-up (me!). I had to call in sick(vacation time)to cover for her.

We charged 100 per child, per 5 day week. Or 3.50 per hour for part time. By law could only care for 5 total including are own.

Today my sons afterschool care is 50 per week per child. They love it there.

And for the record..... absolutetly no family help whatsoever... oh... sorry..got carried away..

My eleven year old started at a Montessori School when she was 3 for daycare half days. She stayed there until end of 5th grade. We paid around 440. a month at the end of fifth grade and it was well worth it. She received an excellent foundation for her future education. Now in 6th grade, she goes to a charter school which has 80 kids, no tuition. It's a fine school and we're thrilled to have found it.

Jgregory, The Commodore is 4 now and he should be going into kindegarten in the next year or so.This will cut the price down if he uses the public school system. Kindegarten out here in Ca. is split into Early birds-8:00 to 11:30 and Later Gators from12:00 to 3:30. Day care on campus cost me $300.00 YMCA. Once they make it to first, just after school care, runs me $160.00 YMCA. I like it because no buses. Public school system out here offers a GATE program which is Gifted and Talented Education. One of my kids are in it the other isn't, no extra cost

Tylerin, SHE would be going to kindergarten next year. But they have only half day kindergarten around here. The day care where she would be going to has full day kindegarten.

However, I may have found another option with the catholic church near by that has extended kindergarten and after care that is half the price. Going to check it out tomorrow.

Thanks Noel. :)

Man, that is why my wife stays home. Till you figure the cost of additional "business" attire for her, the additional gas and insurance premiums, the additional day care expense, plus the wear and tear on the marriage, we decided that it would be cheaper and everyone would be happier if she stayed home. It is working great for us.

We paid $50 a week for the Swamptater when he was a pup in day care. Then on the kindergarten at the church. After care was at Pop-n-GranGran's house. I"m blessed to still have both parents in good health. He's 15 now and in a private school here @$275 a month.
