How much does Mercury 150hp 1986 XR2 weigh? Gonna build a stand for it.

If you thinking about lifting it, any more then 2, or may be 3 people is the most we were able to use to lift any motor. The difficulty of having more helper is there isn't any more place they can grip of hold of on the motor to help.

For 400#, I really would suggest using a motor lift and lifting ring.

Agree. I've seen it done but I wouldn't have called it a safe and sane operation. If it gets away from you, you'll spend more fixing/replacing parts than the price of a 5 ton engine hoist and a lifting ring. Might be paying for some emergency room time also.
