Name about says it.... If you are going out for a full day on the water how much fuel do you take vs actually use? I just got a 6gal tank but was hoping for the more local lakes I wouldn't need to take out a full tank. I know I can add stabil and just use it next time..... Just curious

I guess another thing I'm hoping when I go boating in the ice/sounds/in shore is that 6 gal going to cover me with my 14 HP or will I need to have some reserve

well, i have a 4stroke and a 6g tank. I fished fro, 8 am to 5pm today and still have more then half. My friend has a 15 2 stroke and he used up about 4 g today. I am also not sure but i think newer two strokes eat less gas

Usually take a half filled 6 gal tankl, good for 45-50 Km cruises between 1/2 to 3/4 throttle with 1 gal left over at day's end. A newer 2 strokes will probably consume les bit fuel compared to a used one, compression issues in which needs less throtttle. Have you tried using high octane fuels than regular ones and check if mileage increases ?

For me high octane works much better than regular fuels, keeps combustion chambers cleaner and engine more throttle responsive while medium loaded. With fully inflated sib and healthy engine sitting at correct transom heigh will achieve better mileage, same if comparing to car tires better mileage.

Happy Boating
