I'm Arthur from Holland

This year i bought a boston whaler with an chrysler 115 hp 2 stroke (1981?). With the engine i didn't get the manual. Can someone tell me if the engine is a 1:50 or 1:100. Because the engine smoke a lot and after a day the spareplugs dirty, and sometimes it won't run constant.
Maybe I use to much oil. Now i use 1:50.
Is this correct?

Thanks

Stay with 50-1 ratio.Use TCW-3 outboard motor oil and you should be OK. You might also want to rebuild the carb(s). Kits are available at NAPA for about $14 each. They also have a fuel pump rebuild kit for about $10. The kits come with good instructions. I've been to the Azores and I assume you're running in the ocean. It's important to try to flush the cooling system with fresh water as often as possible. As far as manuals, my preference is the Seloc manual. Others have their own favorites.

I will assume you have the Distributor type ignition. IF you have the round cylinder type ignition coil...it is time to change it. You are not getting a strong enough spark.

TMD
