finished removing the deck 17ft alum cc mariner. below deck was all blown in foam everywhere. now, the stringers were aluminium frames filled in with the foam to apeear like a 1 x 5. there's quit a few braces that were filled also.
i'm putting back the pink 2" styrofoam for flotation that will just float below deck. i'm going to add a few braces to where i think it needs it.
how much of this old foam was actually structural? was it say 30% or could it be 90% and i just don't see it? i may glass up some 1 x5 and bolt them in along where the old foam was in stringers just to be safe.
