How much water?

This has probably been covered a zillon times but I will ask anyway.
I have a 1968 Johnson 65 hp. We ran it the first time this season and for the life of me I can't remember how much water is supposed to come out of the exhaust pipe. When it's running it sort of puts enough out to get your had wet. Is this the right amount?

Is this on muffs or on the lake. It sprays out quite a bit from the exhaust reliefs on idle in the lake, may not put out much of anything on muffs.

That was with the lower unit in a cut down 55 gallon drum. I really didn't want to go to the launch and have problems getting going.

Hard to say without visually seeing it.

Is it steady, even when warm and the thermostat opens? Pressure should increase when the stat opens.

Took it out today and ran it on the water and all seems well. Nice steady stream after it gets going.
