How much will my trailer get?

I have a boat that is not water-worthy any more. The boat frame I am buying comes with a trailer so I guess I do not need mine any more. if I decide to take the boat to the dump and sell my trailer how much is a good price I can get for it?

It is a boat trailer that holds a 16ft fiberglass boat. The winch, roller stop, tires, lights all work. It is made of galvanized metal, and it is made by escort.

The boat had a rotted transom that I replaced, and now I see there is water under the floor, and the floor is rotted towards the back of the boat. So instead of putting money into that, I am buying a boat frame from a buy in my town that is in good shape, for the same amount of money I will put into floor repairs. So I might just take the boat frame to the dump after stripping off all the parts I want.

I want to sell the trailer semi fast, but do not want to sell it super cheap. How much can i expect to get for this?

$200

Are you dumping the boat in the picture? it looks nice, at least from afar (Virginia to Utah!). Too bad, if so.

to bad your in utah, i have been wanting to get into restoring boats, and that seems like the perfect starter.

may want to compare trailer to trailer before letting this one go. Galvanized is nice.

Yeah I am not sure if I am keeping the trailer and selling the one that comes with the boat or not. I can see from the pictures that his trailer is not as nice as mine, as I see some rust on his.

Well I don't really want to take it to the dump but I am not sure what else I can do with it. I cannot imagin someone wanting to buy the boat when there is water under the floor and needs to be replaced. Maybe I am mistaken though.

My garage does not have room for 2 boats to wait for this one to sell, so I might need to take it to the dump. I might just sell it for 100.00 or something, I am not sure.

If the new boat I am buying is a 17ft, and my current boat is a 16ft. will the 17ft boat fit on the trailer?
The trailer goes to the very back of the 16ft boat, so the 17ft boat will hang over about 1 foot. Will that work or no?

This is the boat I am considering buying, does this look like it will fit on this trailer?

you may be able to move your winch post forward a foot and be ok. It looks like you have at least some room.

Once you figure out what you want to keep, (i would keep your trailer if the new boat will fit) list the leftovers on craigslist for cheep. You may be surprised at what you can get out of it. Someone that knows what they are doing, can see the gold under the mold.

I'm sure someone on Craigslist will take that hull off your hands. Looks like a great resto project. Too bad I'm across the country from ya... I love the shape of those older Glastron GT 170s and othere that mimicked that shape.

pesonaly I would donate the boat to a charity without the trailer let the charity find someone that is willing to purchase a boat that needs work I have seen many boats that have water under the floor sell for a couple hundred dollars just be sure to let them know that it needs work to be sea worthy and it shouldn't be a problem and you can sell or donate the boat without a trailer. Also if you donate the boat you can use that as a tax write off.

Hanging over a foot isn't a big problem but try to reduce it without getting the trialer out of balance.

I agree. Donate it and take the deduction on your taxes.
