How old is my Mercury

I have a 50 HP Mercury outboard, serial no.<br />OB308892,with a pull start. Does anybody know<br />how old it is?. Also can the oil/petrol mix be<br />comfirmed as 50:1.<br />Thanks in advance.

bluebeard, is the motor you have a 3 or 4 cylinder?

bluebeard, I believe your motor is a 1988 model in which case the proper mix ratio is 50:1 with TCW3 oil.
