Last weekend I was graciously given access to scan hundreds of photos taken by the family of a three generation boatbuilding family near where I grew up. I thought there might be some interest here in seeing how 'real' boats are built. Unfortunately they have not built new boat in about 17 years now, but they did built more than 300 boats over a span of more than 50 years. I don't suppose there are many here who have ever seen what it takes to build a lapstrake boat in sizes from 25 to 47feet.

WOW now that's both amazing and impressive.

My Dad built a 12 foot wood boat with my grandfather when he was in his teens, I think this is a little bit of a different scale!

Great pictures, Beautiful boats - I can not imagine even trying to take on a project of that magnitude.

Thanks for sharing...building boats this way has always fascinated me...if I only had the time, materials, tools, place to work...I'd like to try it sometime...

Wow! Thanks for posting, Very cool to see a boat built one board at a time, such craftsmanship.

Great set of pictures. however I am surprised that it is only a Cummins 4B powering such a great looking boat.

Way cool. What year and what builder? Looked like a few different boats.
