How stupid is this

As a guy that likes to ride bikes I found this to be unreal.Maybe some of you guys will to.It is just plain stupid. I thought I might share. Plywoody you should like this one.<br />Gordon Liddy Day Scrubbed<br /><br />Friday at the Stugis Rally was supposed to be proclaimed as "G. Gordon Liddy Day." Liddy attained fame as one of the conspirators in the Watergate break-in in 1972, which led eventually to the resignation of then-President Richard Nixon in 1974. Liddy was convicted and incarcerated for over four years.<br /><br />Liddy, now 72, rode his 2003 Harley to Sturgis this year, and South Dakota's Governor Mike Rounds was scheduled to proclaim Friday, August 7, as Liddy's day in the state. Then another politician pointed out that in 1994 Liddy had given suggestions on how to shoot at federal agents (head shots to avoid the bulletproof vests), and a storm developed. The proclamation was rescinded and the governor said it was a mistake, that it was rubber-stamped by an unnamed staffer and that he never actually signed it. Liddy is doing a daily radio show and autograph signings at the event. The Governor is doing damage-control.

Just plain nuts <br />But at least we(USA)do get to have bike rally's. <br />I don't have a bike yet ,but I'm gonna get one<br />one of these days and make that trip.I've heard it's a blast

So which is the stupid part, to you?<br /><br />The governor declaring a "Liddy" day?<br />Rescinding that declaration?<br />Or that Liddy seems to have some following?<br /><br />I would have a hard time celebrating someone who attempted to conspire to overthrow the constitution of the US. <br /><br />Lots of dubious people over the years have been popular, however. Hitler rose to power largely on his popularity.

Political correctness gone awry! The "head shot" thing was taken out of context. <br /><br />I used to deliver the mail to the radio station in Fairfax from which Mr. Liddy used to broadcast.<br /><br />He's a kind, thoughtful, genuine, PATRIOT!<br /><br />Here he is signing my "Stacked & Packed" calendars for me. Always the gentleman!<br /><br />

G. Gordon Liddy-72yrs. old-<br />runs somewhere between 5-10 miles a day & <br />Jumps w/ the Israeli Paratroopers <br />Hope I'm in that good a shape @ that age-Come to<br />think of it-hope to live that long.

Amazing guy. I don't agree with his politics, but I sure can appreciate his dedication toa cause.<br /><br />My dad datyed his wife while she went to HS with him. We had a dinner party at our house when I was a kid, and G. Gordon was there, along with ultra liberal attorney William Kuenstler how was also a friend of my dad.<br /><br /> Everybody seemed to get along real well, <br /><br />But I was too young to really understand the significance having those two over at our house back around the mid to late sixtie.
