That engine should have a three wire trim motor. Put some +12VDC on the blue wire and it will go up. Put some +12VDC on the green wire and it should trim down. You should have two solenoids to run the trim. Hook up a battery to the cables and use a clip lead to energize the solenoids.

ok i got the motor on the pump to work it whines..i can hear it.. but nothing happens. when the motor was took off of the boat it was in up position. Now im having hard time getting it on my engine stand. I think maybe it needs some fluid. if it does can i put it in there being tilted. also does the tilt/trim have to have weight on it to function up or down. right now its on a shop crane.

PTT Fluid is added when the motor is tilted all the way up. Find the resvoir plug and with the motor level shoot some into it until it runs out. The weight of the motor helps the bleed process, so it would be best if you bolted it to a stand or the boat.

You can always remove the PTT unit from the motor, and put it on the bench to bleed and repair if necessary.
