Re: How to change and check timing 75hp force 1996
First, don't touch the timing, and try not to adjust the idle rest-- until you have rebuilt the fuel pump, run a compression test, cleaned-out the fuel tanks and carb bowl, installed a new set of plugs, and decarbed it. These engines need frequent decarbing. The only adjustment that moves -out of adjustmebnt, is the idle roller at the carb anyway. Unless a previous owner futzed with i,it should be dead-on.
But the roller at the carb can loose it's adejustment at times due to vibration. I use a dab of "locktite" after setting it, so it doesn't move.
Here is a link to the
Force manual.
Timing is 30DBTDC, or 32DBTDC on CDM ignition.
