Hi there,

I have a Osprey Sea Harrier with a Mercury Marine 225 HP engine (1997).
My prop shows signs of wearing and I want to replace it. The currently installed prop is a Mecury Marine High Five SS type 48-816374 A45 25P.

The main purpose of the boat is pulling a banana boat with approx. 10 persons on a sometimes rough sea. Although I like going fast as well. (Fastest measured is ? 60 MPH).

Is the Mecury Marine High Five the best choice for pulling weight and going fast? Or is there a better choice? Are there any issues which are important in choosing the right prop concerning my demands?

Welcome to the iboats.com forum!!:):)
The high five is a great prop for pulling the 10 person banana boat. Props are a tradeoff as a 3 blade prop would provide the highest top speed and worst hole shot. The five blade will provide the best hole shot with the worst top speed. I'm sure you could get a few more mph with a 3 blade prop but your rig may not pull the 10 person boat out of the water. For your extreme load of 10 people I would stick with the high five prop.

Thanx for the answer, rndn,

Since pulling the banana boat is more important than the top speed, I will stick to the "High Five"
