How to clean carbs on a 78 Evinrude 70HP

Hello, I have been having trouble starting my evinrude, it just cranks, motor does not turn over. I've been told to pull the carbs off and clean them. Has anyone done this before? What is involved? Should I pay a mechanic to do this? I would much rather keep the money and do it myself.

Yo dusle,<br />The very firstest thing I would do is find out for sure why the engine won't start before I tore anything apart. Got fire at the plugs? Got fuel at the carburetors? How old iz the fuel? etc.<br /><br />c/6<br /><br />Hooty

Good Idea, Turns out that I was not starting it correctly, too much choke was flooding the engine. Can anyone tell me or reference me to a web page on how exactly the choke is used? Thanks for your help.
