how to determine what prop i need for my boat

hello my name is rich and i need some help trying to see what prop i need for my 1987 champion bass boat,it has a 87 175 black max on it now with 12 1/2 and 25 pitch prop and it just dont like to get up on plane fast enough can anybody give me some ideas thanks

you probably need to drop down to a 21 or 23 pitch - but in order for anyone to tell you what pitch you need to do a test run and let us know your speed by GPS (or Cell Phone app) - and also what RPM it is turning at full throttle.

Just to start;
We need data of how your boat runs currently to give you an accurate answer on what you will need. This includes:

(Boat lightly loaded)
1. Maximum achieved RPMs at WOT
2. Speed at WOT(GPS preferably)


Also, that seems like a really high pitch on that.
