How to disconnect alarm buzzer ?

My alarm beeps for a while when the boat is not used for a while, its not overheating, its burning proper amounts of oil and the dealer told me the system has gone bad and should be replaced. How can i disconnect the thing ? (1986 merc 150 xr2)

You can always cut one of the wires going to the horn but I sure wouldn't do it. What happens when you have a real problem?

Thanks for the info but i think i will take my chances and disconnect the unit. From what ive heard these alarm units go haywire very often and are not all that reliable.

I had same problem. Oil injection alarm! Disconnected oil injection and went with premix due to plastic shaft inside motor.
