Re: how to disconnect oil awarning buzzer

Just find the source of the sound of the sound(usually under dash area) which should be somewhat of a black plastic square looking thing, with holes on the front (lets sound out) with a pair of wires on the back (one should be purple I believe), simply disconnect one of the (they'll have connectors on them, just pull). You say that the oil injection is disconnected, so you're premixing fuel and just want to quiet this up, which is ok, but for any other reason I would NEVER recommend disconnecting this.

I would disconnect the oil warning module on the motor. The horn under the dash also is also used for the overheat horn. Good luck.
CU

Also if you just disconnect the warning buzzer, it will limit your RPM usually @3000. This just happened to my older OB. it creates an open circuit.

Re: how to disconnect oil awarning buzzer

So far I hadn't found any information in this forum on specifically how to disconnect the oil warning. Simply disconnecting the warning buzzer also disables overheat warning. On my 150, I found the module that the wires from the oil cap and motion detector lead in to. I disconnected the motion detector and connected the two wires together. Then I followed another lead that crossed over to the other side of the engine. Two of the wires provide power for the module, the third wire went to the switch box. I disconnected this and grounded it. When I tested, the buzzer no longer sounds. It still gives the little chirps when I turn the key to the on position. I haven't dealt with the oil cap wires yet, I assume I connect them together.

Does anyone see a problem with my solution?
