How to drop the gearcase to change impeller

I have a 85 horse Suzuki Sir#8501-922164 so I assum is a 85.I like to change the impeller .before unscrew the blots do I have to do anything such as release the gear if yes where is is and HOW? how to clean the water way
making sure is not pluged? before put back the lower leg do I need to place a sealant or liq washer? thanks

Check brownspoint.com and look up your model number and you can download a free parts manual pdf and see how everything comes apart and goes together as well as part numbers if you need to order. My model # is 8501-2xxxxx which makes it a 1982 Suzi. I'm not sure if it works the same way on yours. These guys here will know though

Thanks I will try the Brown... I only wants to know before drop the lower leg
what do first such as disc. gear?!
Ps I whish could help you with new motor.

Ah, the motor thing is just to be funny. On my 1982 85hp I have to disconnect the shifter from the top just under the carbs before I can drop the foot. After that it's a cinch.....2 nuts up top and 6 or 7 at the foot and 'pop', there it goes. Pretty easy stuff.......
