A relative has an 85 Merc. 50hp 4cyl. Lower unit broke, boat shop can't get it apart to rebuild it they said to go find a used L/U (1980-1985). I've searched a little and found that there going for around $700-800. Is this motor worth putting that much money into?<br /><br />Would it be better to look for a blown motor and try to salvage the L/U.<br /><br />What's the best way to find a junk motor or just the lower unit.<br /><br />Thanks, Pete
