how do I finish the edges of the new deck around the bilge opening? The deck was replaced but had no fiberglass or resin. Thus, the rebuild from bare hull up. Thanks
Router the edges ( or sand off the corner into a more pleasant curve ) and glass from the deck to the sides of the open compartment. Deck was replaced, but no fiberglass? What about the underside of the deck?
I replaced everything. This boat was a mess. As a sucker buying it lake ready it filled the bilge completely leaking through the lower transom bolts in 3 hours on the water. The deck was cut out and replaced sliding new plywood under the lip they cut and the foam was holding the floor up. New carpet glued on. I gutted it and everything is from the ground down hull to the deck. I put a layer of CSM on the underside of all deck pieces. I’ll glass over the sides as you suggested and I’ll be ready for foam.
