Got a few computers at an auction, and haven't played with this one for awhile.I start it up it goes through the checks and everything is fine but it keeps coming up with B drive error so windows doesn't load.Windows 95 is the os and all functions are done by keyboard as the mouse driver is not working.Tried to load Win 95 B disc {CD}and it wouldn't work.Any easy or hard fixes ,problem with bios maybe??? Thanks!!!

Whew, have to go back to the archives. If I remember correctly, B is reserved for a floppy in operating systems that run on DOS. Maybe defective floppy? How is it configured in setup?

B is for floppy ,as for it's configuration that seems to be the problem as it wants me to go into setup when the error happens just after start up.No floppy inserted.Have to do everything with the keyboard no mouse what a pain.

Could the MBR be faulty, forcing OS to go to B?

I'd remove the big floppy and only have the A and C drive. Who uses the 5" floppy anymore.

All this is assuming you can boot the PC to some OS. From a DOS prompt, type the word time. You will be prompted to set the time.

Then type the word date.

EDIT: You can usually set date and time from within setup, if you can get there at boot time.

She's up a running, did it from set-up, auto configuation did the trick ,then rewrote it.Back to where I was before trying to install the mouse'serial port with u2 adaptor, mouse driver not found, install disc, which I don't have .Lots of fun
