How to get cowling off

I just bought a 1985 Merc 7.5.Never having owned a Merc , how does the cowl come off? Thanks

I am going to guess it is similar to a 90. There is a knob at the bottom of the front cover plate that you turn 90 degrees and the cover plate comes off. Then there is a buckle type of latch that you flip to open.

If yours is different, sorry I can't help.
