how to identify volvo engine model

just wondering where volvo has there model numbers written? i just bought a 85 sea ox. its got a 290 leg and a volvo v8. im not sure what numbers are the model numbers and where to find them for the engine.

having a hard time finding the factory tag. did find a tag that is from tam eng corp 245853

tam eng corp 245853 is not Volvo. It's probably a different engine or longblock, hard to say. Some pictures would help with the ID.

From the little bit of research I did tam looks like a machine shop that may of rebuilt the motor. It has Volvo paint scheme, volvo hoses and valve covers.
