How to inspect reed valves Force 125?

Can you see the reed valves by simply removing the carbs or do you have to remove the adapter plates also?

It'll be kind of hard to see anything without taking the carburetor adapter plates off. Might be able to see if a reed petal is completely broken off and missing, but not if it's cracked and still intact.

The reeds prior to 1994/1995 have a very low failure rate. After 1994/1995 they must have changed the material and reed failures were more common.

I use a small dental mirror and a flash light.

They sell a bore scope you can attach to your newer style cameras.
$20 on most sites.

I don't really suspect any issues with them, just curiosity more than anything else. Thanks for the info.

As Jerry mentioned, the mini-borescope will be very helpful in this endeavor if you don't want to take them out fully.
