I have a 1978 Mercury V6, 150 HP on a Champion Super-V 160 bass boat.
I would like to install a trim gauge.
All the gauge senders that I find seem to mount on the cross shaft where the motor pivots when it's tilted. However, on mine, one of the steering cables passes through the middle of the shaft. It's impossible to mount a trim sender on the shaft.
Is there another kind of trim sender available? Or am I completely mis-reading how these are mounted?
(I have read multiple threads about "turn your head and look," and "you trim by feel, every day is different." Let me apologize now for wanting to be able to trim up or down quickly to specific trim points.)
