Florida - land of sunshine, palm trees and retirees.

Also, a land of prisoners

LOTS of em

There is also another problem in Florida, that of derelict hulls desparately in need of repairs. to the point that disposal of them is the only percieved solution.

WELLLLLL ....

As Jason and Ron and all the other masochists on this forum have pointed out, the inexact science of boat rebuilding revolves around sweat and sufferage

The State of FLorida could go into the boat business! Charge a 100 dollar disposal fee, which would amply cover transportation to the prison, and teach the inmates the art of boat restoration, let the metal shop churn out trailers. Buying in bulk, they could halve the cost of repairing the boats, and sell the restored to new boat for a thousand bucks profit, which they could cut the inmates in for a slice of with special privelages given for participation

FL gets rid of the THOUSANDS of boats it needs to dump, and the prison system could reap some lost loot

Best of all, the inmates would have a valuable skill ... in fact, they could become Boat Mechanics and steal legally!!!!!
