Hi SSM,

Saw your post in another thread about not knowing how to post pictures.

It's actually not that hard, heck, I can do it. :p

First of all find a picture hosting site. That's one that you can upload your picture to and it'll be stored on their server. iBoats doesn't host pictures and you can't post pictures directly into iBoats. The site I use is www.myfishingpictures.com other people use other sites (would be nice for others to post their hosts :D ). Most of the sites have size restrictions too, so try and keep the picture down to about 50-200KB. It also helps when uploading, time wise. Once your picture is on the host site, get it's URL. That's where it lives. It should look something like this http://www.myfishingpictures.com/img/030722.jpg

Next find a thread you want to post a pic in. That's the easy bit. Everybody here loves pictures. Especially if they got fish in 'em! When you are ready to post the picture in the place you want it, just put 'img' between square brackets, then the URL of your picture, then '/img' between square brackets. These are square brackets [].

Click on 'Add reply' and everybody get to see it........ :D :D :D

Good luck.

Chris..............

Woohoo, I did it, but I can't figure out how to let people see multiple pictures or view my album. And I guess I need to learn to resize photos. Well later today. Got to go and vote.

Photobucket makes it real easy. Beneath each photo there are 3 options. I just clicked on the "image" one and copy and pasted it to my post. Real easy once I figured out how to do it. Here are 2 of my littlest kid from last night's beauty contest at her school. I'm proud of this one too :)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v665/ae708/MyKidSmall.jpg[/IMG]
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v665/ae708/beautyqueenSmall.jpg[/IMG]

Hope this works :)

Hey Art,

I had a look at the other photo, nice. I think you have an 'Enter' after the first 'IMG' in the brackets. If you click on 'EDIT POST' (on the top bar above your post) you can go in and remove it. It should then show us the other photo.

Good luck,

Chris...........

Looks great, well done Art. You must be a very proud dad!

If you ever want to know what hosting site a picture has come from, just right click on the pic and select Properties, it'll give you the URL of the pic. The first part is the host site. I know, for example, you're using Photobucket. :D

Catch ya in a few weeks.

Chris.........

Re: How to post pictures (for SS Mayfloat and anybody else who wants to know)

Thanks achris, Now I know how. I just got to find the time. I tried downloading still shots from my video cam, but for some reason the picture quality stinks. Reminded me of the days of black and white TV with snow.

My kids play with my toys and reset some settings that really throw me for a loop. Over the weekend, it took me an hour just to get my fish finder settings reset. I think that maybe the problem with my video cam. I did buy a new still camera, but my SIL needed it to take pics of stuff he wants to sell. When it gets back, I'll be the one to put new batteries in it. Well, at least there is no charge for film.

I'll try to get time this evening to give it another try. I'm in the process of building a offset pull behind mower so that I can get my yard mowed in half the time. 4 hours now to mow and that is not counting trimming. When I'm done, I should be able to cut a 92" pass. Maybe a good test for posting pics of the progress of this project. If so, I will put them over in the tech area of the non boating section.

Thanks achris for the help. It is appreaciated! :D
