I have a Chevy 350 (1986 & up casting)w/ Pre Alpha Outdrive

How do I tell what year it is (my engine)?

I need to pressure test the block and need some help (Got water in the oil). I've been reading and on how to do it, but am unsure what I close off and where I put what. And the ones on youtube the engines are taken out. And I want to test it in the boat.

I've searched, but the articles with diagrams, the pictures or diagrams aren't available anymore.

I'd appreciate any help. Below is a pic of my engine.

1)How and where do I plug off block?
2)Where do I put the compressor?

I know there's alot of auto stuff on here. It wil be fixed. Just want to work on the block first...

*Disregard the bilge hose that goes to where the flame arrester's supposed to go, this is an old pic

I remember that picture, automotive TBI with bilge pump a bit too high in the bilge to save much. :p :p ;)

Anyways, to pressure check the block, just block off all hoses going to exhaust manifold and risers. Then, at the transom shield disconnect the hose from the outdrive. Adapt a pressure tester to that hose.
Then, drain the cooling system of water, put the plugs back in and pressure check. Hopefully it holds, if not .................. the fun begins. But start by listening for air leaks.
