How to remove driveshaft on 90 HP Force lower unit

I need to remove driveshaft from the lower unit of a 1996 90hp force for shipping. Is this a simple task or does it invlove removal of propshaft, gear set and all inside gear case. Appreciate any help, thanks.

If it is a one piece drive shaft, then yes, you need to remove everything. Drive shaft is held in the gearcase by the pinion.

If it is a two piece drive shaft like on the 1990 90 then you can separate it just above the water pump.

Some shippers don't ask questions, but to avoid delay, drain the oil out of the lower unit prior to shipping. It is considered hazardous material.

This is a one piece and I figured it would require complete disassembly, was hoping there might be an easy way, thanks for the info.
