I have a 1982 Evinrude 35 HP long shaft motor. I removed the gearcase. I'm trying to remove the Housing Bearing 0387023. Not sure if it is suppose to be pulled out with a pulley puller or screwed out? What is your best idea on how to remove it?

The factory service manual says to use OMC puller P/N 386631

I use the cheap harmonic balance puller from HarborFreight $9.99,Same 1/4 inch 20thread bolts as the flywheel only longer,Just remember there are two bolts holding it on.the bolts go through the housing and screw into the retainer plate Gotta remove them.Sometimes its so loose no puller is required, just wiggle it and pull.

Yes, it is pulled out and not screwed out. I did get it out and I did have to heat around the outside of the housing to get it free enough for the puller to remove it. Thanks
