I have a 87 Force 125. I purchased the motor knowing its been sitting out for a couple of year so I decided to change the water pump impeller however i cant seem to figure out how to remove the lower unit
.I removed the 6 bolts holding it up and removed the cotterpin. There's no hidden bolt under the fin. Is there a step im missing?

7 bolts holding it.
Remove the exhaust snout.
Then remove the allen head bolt under that.

PB Blaster is a good thing to spray on the bolts.

If all 7 are gone? it's stuck, then a dead blow hammer on the back and don't over do.

I removed all 7 bolts and hit downwards on the back side quite a bit and didn't even budge. Could there be a coupler holding the shift rod somewhere?

Since it has been years since it was last ran, the drive shaft could be stuck . . . you would just have to keep on banging it. Or you could use the anti-vent plate against the motor leg cover to pry or jack it. Be careful though, the anti-vent plates are aluminum and thin.

You remove the snout?
Under there is another bolt.
I should have said 9
7 holding the drive 2 holding the snout.
