How to remove the trigger.

How is the trigger removed from a 73 650 3 cyl?<br /><br />I removed the distribute cap but it appears the rotor is fixed to the shaft and can't be removed. And the trigger is beneath the rotor. Do I have to completely disassemble the distributor?<br /><br />pwp

Yes.... If it's like the 4 or the six - the trigger is actually part of the distributor body.<br /><br />-W

pwp, I do not believe those triggers are replaceable. It is likely that you will need to get a new or used distributor housing. The rotor is also not removeable from the shaft. The rotor can be removed from the dist. housing however.
