how to remove the trottle wire from a mercury 90hp 2002

hey everyone i have to change the trottle wire and the shift wire from my mercury 90hp 2002 saltwater i have the wire ready it is the Gen 1 but i can not get the engine side off can some one please help here thanks

the engine has a clip that you must pull up and then out to get it to release work with it a bit but do not force it you will figure it out. the clicp is right where the 2 black round barrels are

thanks maxz 695 yeah i see that clip so that clip i have to pull up with like a nails because i do not want to break the clip and it look like the clip is build in there and with no room to remove it so i want to see how to remove that thanks

if you grab the 2 little ends on the top side of the clip it will lift with a small amout of force then pull it backwards and it will then lift out of the bottom retainer allowing you to remove the cable. I don,t have my camera charged so making a short video is possible at the moment
