you'll probably need to plunge cut a sawsall blade thru the glass to cut her free. Bass Boats ARE the most difficult transoms to gain access to. If the transom needs done, I'd highly recommend inspection of the stringers as well.

Yeah most Bass Boats of this vintage need a Gut Job but...she'll be better than NEW when you're done cuz your work WILL be better than the factory if you follow the advice you'll get here on the forum.

Make SURE to use PPE when you start sanding cuz fiberglass dust is Nasty stuff TIP: Coat your arms and face with Baby Powder before doing sanding and you'll ITCH a whole lot less!!!

Way $$$ to do pour in and all good reviews. You can do it yourself too.
Ply will do just fine if properly installed.

here's the deal. Composite material will ensure that you never have to deal with rot again but...Most people don't keep the same boat for LIFE. If you use wood and glass it the way it's supposed to be done. The wood stringers, Transom and deck will last for Decades and more than likely longer than you'll own the boat. The extra expense of composite material just doesn't make sense to me but...I am just and Old Dumb Okie!!!!
