hi there, i have a aq211a 5.0 litre engine, and the bearing thats on the water pump shaft is making a noise and leaking, so i took the 4 bolts of and removed the impellor cover, which leaves the bit on the shaft, does anyone know how that housing comes off the shaft?

I have changed the bearing and seal on this pump some time ago. I don't remember exactly how I did it, but I had the complete pump assembly removed from the engine. The bearing (No 10) is pressed into the carrier (No 5), no lock ring. The pump housing (No 2) is pressed into the bearing.

On my pump, I'm pretty sure there was a lock ring, to hold No 2 in place. On this pump, it doesn't look like there is one. Instead it looks like there is one to hold the seal in place. I'm pretty sure that was not the case on my pump. It was held in place by a tight fit.

Anyway, take the complete assy off the engine and look on the engine side of part no 5. If you see a lock ring in there, release it, and part No 2 can be pulled out, by prying with two screwdrivers.

you can get a copy of the service manual. don may have it in his stash

i have just gone and checked this engine i bought, the company told me it was a aq211a but its NOT its 5.0GL-E

ANY HELP?
