Hello.

I did a search but couldn't find anything talking about my question. I've got a couple of snaps pulling out from my fiberglass hull and just wondered what's the best way to repair them?

Also, do most people trailer with the snap on covers or are they just for slips? I was told it's okay to trailer but now I'm wondering if that's what caused the snaps to come loose in the hull.

Thanks in advance!

Re: How to Repair Snaps in Fiberglass Hull

The fastest and easiest way I found was to use those little plastic anchors (the kind you use for walls). Slip one in then screw in the snap. Never had one pull back out.
When I bought my boat I brought it back from NY (about 350 miles) with the top on. No problems. But when going to the ramp I usually take it off . With all the stuff I load on before I go and unload when I get home plus washing it off. Its easier to just to get it out of the way. Also I think it gets time to air out (all those fumes trapped under the cover) when towing it without the top.

Thanks, that's a great idea. I wonder why something like that isn't done in the first place? Well, I appreciate the help. Have a good evening....DLA
