how to replace control cables in 1977 85 hp control box

I'm swapping engines and controls on a couple of 1970's boats, and need to swap the control cables. Are there allen screws in the control box that need to be loosened to allow me to remove the cables? Do I loosen one or both, or is there another method? Thanks.

Firdt split open the box. You should find a small allen set screw on each side of each cable.<br /> You have to loosen only one normally, but it might not hurt to loosen both because the cable will have a 'dent' from the screws that may require a good tug to get it out of the barrel(s).
