How to Run on stand

Hello all ...I have a question ...I have a 2015 Mercury 75hp 4stroke that I am needing to run on a stand ...how can I do this without the main harness connected to the boat ...I'm good with wiring ...but need to figure out a way to make it work. ....I have someone wanting to buy it but sold the boat ..thanks ...also on the engine is a plug right beside the tilt and trim button on the engine lower cowl ..what it is used for

You can. You need to jump 12v to the main feed power to the ECU which should be purple, and then activate power to the starter . It should run that way.

You didn't ask any questions about cooling water to the engine. Muffs and a water hose would be your best bet and I wouldn't attempt anything else.

A lot of OB charging systems need a battery attached so the diodes in the voltage regulator don't blow or short. So when wiring up power to the ECU, also make sure the voltage regulator has power on the charging wire as well.
