Well I pushed the season as long as I could, but today after my final spin I had to take my 15012 '53 E15 out of the water before it turned into a block of ice! Sigh... Boating season is over...

Re: How to tell when you've left the boat in the water too long...

Steve,
I wish we could trade weather for a few days every year. I'd love to have that on my boat during a trip to the duckblind.
It's regularly in the 70's for highs in my area this time of year. BTW,
I attempted to send you some pics the other day, but sometimes your address rejects stuff. Will try again soon. Just motor pics and such. Wayne got 'em, but you didn't I don't think.
I'd like to also order some snow from your area at least once or twice this year, but doubt It'll happen. Our local lakes actually froze over for about 2 days last winter-----the first time in about 25 years.
Later,
JBJ

Ha. I couldn't even shift it. The shifter was frozen solid. Had to whack it many times to free it up. And boy, it sure didn't wanna start in -5c temp. You must still have open water down there... Once the shore starts icing up here and the bays freezing it'll be froze over in days...

Looks like they were both running strong after you got them going. Chilly ride to the ramp huh?

Nah, was bundled up. After I went for a quick spin I only have to drag it on shore.

We allways boated till the 1st week of December in the "1000 islands"Would have to break up ice in the boat(a utility) before I could attempt to even bail the boat and big blocks of ice on boat and motor from wave action.I wonder what would have happened in the dark on the river if the motor quit, long before cell phones and no traffic on the water.

We used to get chainsaw engines going in sub freezin weather by putting a spritz of napha in the carb. They'd start without spark.!
