Re: how to test fuel pump

Hi
To test a fuel pump properly, one must tee in a pressure gauge on the outlet of the pump, and tee in a vacuum gauge on the inlet of the pump. Pending on year make and model, you should have somewhere between 2-6psi on the pressure side at wide open throttle while cruising. The vacuum gauge is used only to determine the cause of low pressure if you are below specs.

A bad voltage regulator can cause high or low charging system voltage, pending how it fails....
This can result in an "under" or "over" charged battery.
:)
