Hi
I have a problem with my key switch which seems dead, last time I turned the engine was when I did a compression test, then I used a start cable directly on the starter motor since I didnt have anyone to turn the key. Can this done any harm?
I was wondering if its possible to turn the engine on the flywheel or somewhere since it is difficult to get to the wheel in front that is connected to the crankshaft. Ive removed my distributor so I need this for the timing to get it back in right place. My cylinder head is off as well so it shouldnt be so hard to turn it.
Regards
Affa

You should be able to pull 2 of the opposing water pump pulley bolts and put longer ones in, then you have a place for a long screwdriver or pry bar to grip to turn from there. You might need to apply pressure to the belt as you are turning.

Didnt we decide that your distributor only goes in one of two ways?? Doesnt matter where it is now.Just drop it in.

There should be no problem using the remote starter, did the key switch just go bad after you used the remote starter switch last time??

LubeDude

Re: How to turn engine?

Hi
My key switch worked OK before I did the remote turning, but I have coil, cylinder head and distributor off, there are some wires that is not connected to these things, not sure if it will work then?
- boatingfool, it looks like my distributor can go in all different position because the connector to the oil pump rotates 1 turn when I take the distributor out.
Thanks again!
Regards
Affa
